Pick a budget tier first

- High-end build: 4K gaming, streaming, ML/AI workloads, Blender, heavy Revit or CAD.
- Special-purpose: silent HTPC, home server, or NAS — tell us the use case, not the parts.
What a good local builder gives you
- An itemized parts list with brand and model on every line — not "16GB RAM, 1TB SSD."
- Realistic performance targets for the games or software you actually plan to run.
- A power supply with 30%+ headroom (so you can add a GPU later).
- Cable management done properly, not stuffed behind the tray.
- 24-hour burn-in with memory, CPU, and GPU stress tests before pickup.
